Coming from a family deeply rooted in the diamond trade, I’ve seen the industry from the inside out. What I’ve built is a business that reflects who I am: values-led, quality-focused, and committed to doing what’s right even when it’s not the easy path.
We work with post-consumer natural diamonds not because it’s trendy, but because it’s smart, sustainable, and the right thing for the future of our industry.
What drives me is the idea that progress and preservation can coexist—that innovation doesn’t have to come at the planet’s expense. That belief is at the heart of Rothschild Trading.

Generational Diamond Expertise
The Rothschild Trading Company has a rich history in the diamond industry. The Company traces its passage to America back to its founder, Efraim Rothschild. In 1964, at the age of 12, Efraim chartered his own course into the business world as an apprentice diamond cutter and polisher in the capital of Israel’s flourishing diamond industry, Netanya.
Fast forward to 2001, after graduating from Tulane University, Henry Rothschild, Efraim’s son, joined his father in business and immersed himself fully into the trade. In 2005, with the industry in a state of uncertainty, and independent jewelers feeling the pain of rapid consolidation and the effects of the internet, Henry established the Retail Jeweler’s Cooperative (RJECO, Inc.). RJECO’s mission was to support independent jewelers by strengthening their diamond buying capabilities.
The cooperative effectively organized a group of the nation’s leading independent jewelers into a consolidated buying group and moved them upstream in the diamond pipeline, improving margins and profitability. Through RJECO, Henry became more involved in the diamond market, eventually forming the Rothschild Trading Company as a full-fledged supplier. What began as a two-man business in dossier stones eventually evolved into a full-service ethically sourced diamond wholesaler.
Today, the Rothschild Trading Company focuses on sustainably sourced diamonds, and operates in Pittsburgh, PA. The company has taken the opportunity to support its business community by dealing honestly and openly, paying fair-market-value for diamonds, and providing as much support and guidance as possible to pawn brokers, trade shops, gold buyers and independent jewelers.
